16th May - Lydden Hill
Despite getting the two Clubman 400/650 Shoot Out races done on the Saturday I spent Sunday lying in a morphine induced haze in the local hospital. Wouldn't have been too bad had I not had an interview the following day meaning I should have been back in London that evening.
Due to my concussion they wanted to keep me in for observation for another night so the lovely Red ran around collecting my bits and pieces, checking me out of the bed and breakfast, packing up my van and still finding time to come and visit me in hospital. Thanks honey!

On Monday I managed to rearrange my interview for Thursday and got a taxi back to the circuit to collect my van. I then drove home and went to bed. The interview was awful as the concussion meant I could hardly remember who I had worked for, my collar bone and leg meant I was in a lot of pain and I didn't tell them I had crashed whilst racing motorbikes so I couldn't own up to the reason I was a complete wreck. Needless to say I didn't get the job :-)
Gutted I wasn't racing but still made plans to get fixed up in time for the Brands GP meeting the following weekend. Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time!
It was only later that we found out about the leg and back problems so I figured a few trips to Brian Simpson for some of his electro-magnets and laser treatment and I would befit enough (just!) to be able to ride my favourite circuit a few days later.
