11th July 2004 - Brands Hatch
Not racing this weekend but the MiniTwins regulars were doing a one off round of the MRO series as a taster ready for a televised MRO MiniTwins series in 2005.
Although just a single club length race, rather than the longer MRO races, it was a great excuse for the guys to get their bikes on television. The race was shown as part of the PowerBike Tour series on the Men & Motors channel.

Far too shiny!

Nigel Purdon and Rob Garland may have shared the wins on the Saturday but Chris Firmin had decided he wanted the win for the first televised MiniTwins race and led the most of the race only going as fast as he needed to in order to take the trophy and the interview for the programme.

Ready to go to MRO 2005!

Winning on TV for the first time!

I think the quality of the turn out and the competitiveness of the racing surprised a lot of the MRO regulars which was encouraging and bodes well for the 2005 Bemsee series to be joined by a MiniTwins series at MRO level. Hopefully this will give some of the up and coming guys a good way to progress without having the big budgets involved with SuperSport 600 or PowerBike racing.
